RHOMBE EARTH

A Touch of Nature

As Lyngby Porcelæn’s popular Rhombe Color series, all four beautiful colors in the Rhombe Earth series—clay, marble, moss and slate—have been carefully selected by the design duo Stilleben v/ Reckweg, consisting of Ditte Reckweg and Jelena Schou Nordentoft. Stilleben v/ Reckweg belongs to a new generation of designers who respect tradition but also have the boldness to innovate.

The Rhombe Earth has been inspired by the classic Rhombe pattern, which is taken from Lyngby Porcelæn's vast design archive, and the iconic relief pattern provides a pleasant, tactile experience of the dinnerware with a quality that can be both seen and felt.

Earthly Pleasures

Go a layer deeper and pay attention to the food on the plate, the senses and the conversation with others around the table. With the new color palette of elegant earth tones, Rhombe Earth invites us to slow down, be present with what we eat, who we eat with and to notice the beauty of the tableware we eat from.

The earth is life-giving and rich. This is where everything sprouts and grows - just like the pattern on Lyngby Porcelæn's Rhombe dinnerware, which elegantly opens up and unfolds on the different parts of the series - now also in muted earth tones in the Rhombe Earth collection, where every single color is carefully selected by Stilleben, consisting of Ditte Reckweg and Jelena Schou Nordentoft, just like in the Rhombe Color series.

Nature’s Mathematical Perfection

If you study it closely, geometry is a basic condition of nature, where patterns and structures with an impressive mathematical elegance are found everywhere. And in the manufacture of the porcelain, the rhombus structures are built up layer by layer - just like an artichoke - using a complex and innovative process that few porcelain manufacturers have mastered.

The Geometry of Elegance

You may discover the geometric and mathematical beauty of the rhombus when the colors in Rhombe Earth bring out the pattern in a new way. A rhombus by itself is perfectly geometric, and it only appears even more perfect when several rhombuses are put together, as seen on the Rhombe frame. Rhombe Earth, with its elegant earth tones, invites you to let your mind wander in botanical directions.

Harmonize Your Table Setting

Use the different pieces together in your table setting and let the different sizes of plates peek out from under each other to let the warm colors interact. You can also combine the classic white Rhombe frame with individual pieces from Rhombe Earth to create a new and earthy look with just a few elements, where the gray and brown shades will stand out beautifully against the white porcelain.
