HOLMEGAARD X MIKKELLER

Timeless Design Meets Functionality

Mikkeller has since 2006 been one of the breweries to put Denmark on the special beers’ world map with their unique use of ingredients and techniques. With an uncompromising and experimental approach to beer brewing, Mikkeller has created a brand that manages to, both tastefully and visually, capture the spirit of the times and the target audience.

Holmegaard stands for tradition and a classic approach, while Mikkeller’s design universe is known for its quirkiness and modern expression. This series of beer glasses brings the best of both worlds: the curved shapes are inspired by Mikkeller's famous illustrations, Henry and Sally, while the glasses are stylish, simple, and serve a clear purpose.

Enjoy Beer the Right Way

It's time to serve more of our beer in the right glasses. Using specially designed glasses, you will experience both the individual beer and the full potential of the glass.

Drinking from a can, for example, doesn’t release aroma particles and carbon dioxide the same way. Using a beer glass, allows you to sense the beer’s appearance and aroma and, thus, avoid the lukewarm and foam-filled sip from a can.

Pint Glass

The glass size is designed to accommodate classic lagers or pilsners. Pour the beer at a 45-degree angle and aim for a foam head of about 1.18", as pilsners settle quickly. Serve at a cold temperature of 6°C.

IPA Glass

The narrow base and slightly wider top allow the IPA's aromas to be preserved. Pour the beer at a 45-degree angle and aim for a foam height of about 0.79". If the beer is refrigerator-cold, let it warm up to 8°C for optimal taste.

Universal Glass

Suitable for heavy beers like stouts. Pour at a 45-degree angle and aim for a foam height of about 0.39" to suit the beer’s complex aromas. Serve beers with 8% alcohol at 9-10°C, and stouts with 10% alcohol at around 12°C.

A Designated Glass Makes a Difference

It's time to serve more of our beer in the right glasses. Of course, there are times when you're on the go, and a bottle or can just makes more sense. But if you're at home or somewhere that allows it, you should definitely pop the cap and pour those golden drops into a suitable glass. When Mikkel Bjergsø pours a beer, it's for the complete experience. He hopes that with this series created in collaboration with one of Denmark's greats in Danish craftsmanship, Holmegaard, he can inspire people to enjoy beer from glasses:

"Sometimes it's too cold, other times too warm, and then a beer just doesn’t taste as it should. The goal is to convey the brewer's thoughts and ideas, giving the beer the best conditions, and it's about engaging your senses."

Along with the classic beer glasses above, Holmegaard and Mikkeller have created an annual pint glass and a Christmas year glass. Both of the glasses feature creative and quirky graphics of Mikkeller's mascots, Henry and Sally.
