What if furniture was not just for the wealthy but for everyone?
This simple yet radical idea sparked a design revolution in Denmark. In the early 1940s, a team of visionary designers set out to create beautiful, functional, and affordable furniture that embraced everyday life. They rejected the heavy, ornate styles of the past in favor of clean lines, honest materials, and ergonomic comfort. Under the leadership of Børge Mogensen, FDB Møbler became a driving force behind Danish modernism, pioneering a design language that was both timeless and democratic.
