With Kay Bojesen Monkey x DBU, Kay Bojesen Denmark and the Danish Football Association have joined forces to celebrate the connection and pride of standing side by side in unity based on a shared belief that we can excite and unite as a part of something bigger with humor, creativity and good craftsmanship.
Interesting things are created when opposite elements meet. With great respect for Kähler’s artisan heritage, the design duo KIMPOP has explored the field between classic ceramics and their personal aesthetic design references, inspired by the late 80s and early 90s.
Two design icons that suit each other. The Kay Bojesen Monkey was originally created as a clothes hook that could come down to children’s height, but it has grown up to become one of design history’s greatest classics. Now the Monkey has got its own clothes on – and what better to suit a Danish design icon than another Danish design icon? The #101 T-shirt from Nørgaard paa Strøget.
The series of wooden figures is based on Kay Bojesen’s basic idea that toys should be simple, solid and inspire play. Kay Bojesen also worked based on the philosophy that wood only comes to life when it gets a story – a philosophy that was consistent with all his figures. That foundation and Kay Bojesen’s unique talent has turned his magical world of Wooden Figures into beloved classics and design icons that will last for decades to come.
