The horse rug was originally developed at The Royal Military Clothing Factory – they produced textiles and cloth for the Danish Army, Navy and the Guard hussars. The horse rug was designed for the purpose of use for clothing for the horses in the army. In the 1970s, the horse rug was adapted for use as furniture textiles. This famous horse rug became a huge export success as the main fabric on many Danish design furniture’s. Danish Art Weaving takes over the production in 1995 and today FDB Møbler has started up this cooperation to bring back the history about this famous horse rug for the new generations.
