Where Art Meets Fantasy
Some collections tell a story. Titania by Bjørn Wiinblad tells an entire fairy tale. Drawing from Wiinblad's iconic design archive, the Titania series brings a poetic, colorful, and wonderfully eccentric world into your home. This is a collection for the playful and the curious. For interiors that are not afraid to dream a little bigger, lean a little sideways, and celebrate beauty in its most fanciful form. Every piece is hand-painted in the classic Wiinblad style with an exceptional artistic dedication that makes each one feel like a small, singular masterpiece
A Midsummer Night's Dream
Titania draws its inspiration from William Shakespeare's beloved comedy "A Midsummer Night's Dream," and from the very first glance it is easy to feel why. There is something genuinely enchanted about her: a sense that you have stepped into an epic adventure, into a world where magic is just around the corner and anything might happen before dawn.
The name itself carries a double meaning. Titania is both the queen of the fairies in Shakespeare's classic and a name Wiinblad himself once used for a series of imaginative figures that this new collection builds beautifully upon. It could not have been called anything else.
Design and Character
What makes Titania so instantly recognizable is the face. The signature almond-shaped eyes. The familiar round, rosy cheeks. The iconic triangular nose, pointed and precise. And the whimsical lips that complete her poetic expression with a quiet, slightly mischievous smile, as if she is just about to share a great secret but has decided, for now, to keep it to herself a little longer.
Her hair is where Titania truly comes alive. Hand-painted with an abundance of painterly leaves in endlessly varied formations, it flows and moves in every direction across the polished ceramic surface, up, around the ears, marked with beautiful reliefs, and down the nape of the neck. Sculptural and expressive, it is unlike anything else in ceramic design.
